Throughout 2025, Frontex continued to strengthen its innovation ecosystem to address evolving border security challenges and operational needs. Through EU-funded research, international cooperation, industry engagement and operational testing, the Agency advanced the development and uptake of innovative technologies, including artificial intelligence, digital twins, counter-drone solutions and space-based applications. These efforts helped bridge the gap between research and operational deployment, while supporting interoperability, responsible innovation and compliance with the evolving European regulatory framework. Together, these activities reinforce Frontex’s commitment to a future-oriented, integrated European border management system.
